After steering his side into the Second Qualifying Round, Tom Killick detailed the rising level of excitement around the club ahead of today’s draw.
Speaking to All Poole Aren’t We, Killick stated: “I don’t feel we’ve necessarily over the years had amazing luck with cup draws, so it would be nice to get something reasonably favourable.
“In the first qualifying round there is a lot of, in theory, easier ties.
“In the next round, they are a lot harder. You could have a side from the Conference South, or a really strong team from our level.”
In recent years Dolphins have been drawn away six times at this stage, with only two home draws since 2013.
They have faced National South opposition five times, with only one of those draws at home – against Hungerford in 2019.
“We just have to wait and see,” Killick continued.
“I think there is a really good buzz around the place.”
Killick went on to credit the supporters for generating that buzz, explaining: “On Saturday I thought the supporters were absolutely brilliant.
“When you compare the atmosphere against Swindon to Farnborough, it was chalk and cheese.
“It does make a difference. Playing at home hasn’t always been the be all and end all for us, but I feel after that atmosphere, we’d really love to have another home draw.”
