Poole Town now know the opponents for their foray into their fourth cup campaign of the season, after being drawn away to Sherborne in the Quarter-Finals of the Dorset Senior Cup.
The tie is set to be played on Tuesday 7th of December at Sherborne’s Raleigh Grove.
With Dorchester and Weymouth not submitting sides, Southern League Premier South sides Poole and Wimborne must surely fancy their chances – if they decide to take the competition seriously.
Wessex Premier League rivals Hamworthy United and Shaftesbury are the unlucky sides chosen to contend in a quasi-qualification round, with the winners hosting Bridport in the Quarter Finals.
Weymouth, the last winners of the competition in 2020, will obviously not be able to retain their trophy, but it is still likely that any final would be hosted at either the Bob Lucas Stadium or the Avenue.
Poole last won the competition in 2019, beating Wimborne 5-0 at the Avenue. Under Tom Killick, Poole have won the competition four times and finished runners up once.
