Fan favourite Luke Burbidge will continue to light up the pitch for Poole Town after his manager confirmed his player’s intention to commit to the club.
Burbidge had missed Dolphins’ previous two matches as he decided his future, playing for Shaftesbury in the Wessex Premier, where he is currently dual-registered.
Speaking about the stalwart midfielder, Killick told All Poole Aren’t We: “Burbs is back in the squad tonight. Me and him have had a conversation, he’s reflected on what’s happened over the last week or two.
“He feels Poole is where he wants to be. That’s good really, that he’s had a think and decided he wants to throw himself into Poole. So, He’ll be back to tonight.”
In his third spell at the club, Burbidge is currently a coach with Dolphins’ partner academy Champion Sports, highlighting a strong link to both the area and the club.
After making over 250 appearances in Poole colours, Burbidge’s previous experience in lifting two league titles with the Dolphins could prove beneficial as Poole hunt for promotion.
The doubt surrounding Burbidge’s future did not impact Poole’s recruitment, with boss Tom Killick still looking to bring in youngsters on loan from professional sides.
