Poole Town have drafted in young midfielder Teddy Davey into the side from Premier League side Southampton.
Davey joins initially on a one month loan, with his signing a welcome relief to a beleaguered Dolphins squad hit by COVID and injuries.
Only 18 years of age, Davey has featured in Saints’ Premier League 2 side twice this season, as well as an appearance for the U23s in the EFL Trophy, coming off the bench against League One Charlton Athletic.
Poole boss Tom Killick told All Poole Aren’t We: “He’s an exciting young player and we’re very happy to have him. We’ve been hit hard with injuries and COVID other the past week and a bit, so it was important to bolster our numbers.
“It’s very pleasing to be given the opportunity to sign him, and we are delighted to with the goodwill and co-operation of Southampton.
“Hopefully it will be the first of many loan dealings between the two sides in the near future.”
Davey will be available for Dolphins’ trip to Walton Casuals this Saturday.
