It seems new signings are like buses at the Black Gold Stadium – wait for one and suddenly a few come all at once!
After adding Southampton youngster Teddy Davey to the side on loan, Dolphins have furthed strengthened their side with two permanent signings.
Dolphins swooped to grab Addwell Chipangura from local rivals Wimborne Town. Chipangura scored twice for Poole’s U23s midweek, and was also on the scoresheet last weekend in his final appearance for the Magpies in the FA Trophy.
Chipangura came through Wimborne’s youth ranks after starting his career with Portsmouth.
Ex-Southampton and Yeovil youth goalkeeper Tommy Scott has also signed for the club, following a spell with Hamworthy United and training with Weymouth.
Released by Southampton this summer, Scott was spotted by Yeovil playing for Hamworthy in 2016.
First choice goalkeeper Mark Childs had to play through last weekend’s defeat to Frome Town with a shoulder injury, so it appears Poole-born Scott has been drafted in as cover.
The 22-year old is also eligible for Northern Ireland, and has been previously called up for their U21 side.
Chairman Chris Reeves stated: “We are delighted to announce two more signings who will go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s trip to Walton Casuals.
“Addwell Chipangura joins us from Wimborne. Addwell is a pacey forward with an eye for goal. He netted for Wimborne last week in their FA Trophy game and also scored twice for our u23s against Weymouth on Wednesday.
“Also signed today is highly rated goalkeeper Tommy Scott. Tommy has been training with National League Weymouth recently whilst turning out for Hamworthy in the Wessex League.
“Both players are very welcome additions to the first team squad and we wish them well during their time with us.”
